The Milliners House in Wigton is an excellent holiday destination for families or groups who want proximity to the Lake district, beaches or local walking through beautiful countryside. Wigton is situated 12 miles from historic Carlisle where you can walk around castles with dungeons or the see the start of Hadrian's Wall or just shop. You can picnic by the beach at Silloth or play a round of Golf on the Silloth on Solway Golf Club only 11 miles away and see the beautiful
Galloway Hills accross the water. The lake district is very close and Bassenthwaite Lake is a mere 14 miles away if you fancy walking at any level or just want to admire the panoramic beauty of the Lake District and follow in the footsteps of Beatrix Potter, Wordsworth and Ruskin, its all so close. Scotland is few minutes more away depending on traffic with Gretna Greene is just North up the M6 from Carlisle
