Mark's Yard

The archway leads to Mark's Yard. Historically Mark's Yard was an area in Wigton that local women took in Laundry and washed it, now cordoned off to give privacy within the courtyard. There is a stone slab here that previous owners speculated it was a mediaval toilet seat! What do you think or maybe an item linked to the laundering of the past!
